Laser Printer
halogen heat lamps
A fuser lamp failure
is usually indicated by a "Service Error
50" or "50 Service" on the display
of Hewlett Packard printers, an "E31" error
on early Panasonic printers, a series of flashing
lights on the Apple printer family and "E0003" on
early Epson printers. We no longer carry Panasonic
or Epson lamps.
You can use an ohm meter to check the continuity of the heater lamp. Typical readings are less than 10 ohms measured on the heavy leads of the fuser assembly. An open circuit or discoloration of the lamp are sure indications of a defective heater lamp.
Most newer machines use a solid state thin film heating element which should last the life of the printer. Our fuser lamps consist of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and third party lamps.
